It’s time for our family summer vacation. I really feel like we need it this year. It’s been a tough and stressful year, still battling cancer and more determined than ever to win the fight. Someone else I know is fighting the disease right now and he said he will show “no mercy” in his fight. I really like that attitude. The toughest thing for me has not been the treatments, but seeing the stress and sacrifice that the whole “cancer thing” has imposed on my wife and sons. They have been so great; really saving my life in so many ways. But it sucks to have this shit hanging over our heads. That’s why I just need to kick it’s ass and get on with living.

We’re headed to Martha’s Vineyard for the week. Planning to spend our days exploring towns, lighthouses, framer’s markets and talking about all the “beautiful people” around us. We have so much fun just hanging out together, talking and laughing. Late afternoons will be spent at the beach, watching the sunset, snacking on “salty-crunchies” and sipping some sort of cold and yummy vodka drinks.
